About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Care Home Specialist to support care home providers in improving operational efficiency, compliance, resident experience, and service delivery.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the care home sector, including residential, nursing, dementia, and supported living environments. They will work closely with care home managers, operational teams, and stakeholders to identify challenges, implement improvements, and ensure best practices are followed.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving outcomes for residents while supporting care teams with practical, sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist knowledge and support to care homes across operational, regulatory, and service improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with care home managers and senior leadership teams.
- Support care homes in achieving and maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks, including inspections and quality standards.
- Review operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Deliver training, guidance, and best-practice recommendations to staff and management teams.
- Analyse care home performance data and produce recommendations for improvement.
- Support the implementation of new systems, processes, or technologies within care settings.
- Assist with resident wellbeing initiatives and service quality enhancements.
- Stay informed on sector developments, legislation, safeguarding, and care standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to care home stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience working within the care home, social care, healthcare, or elderly care sector.
- Strong understanding of care home operations and resident-centred care.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements (e.g., Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects.
- Full UK driving licence (if field-based).
Desirable
- Experience in nursing, care management, operations, consultancy, or healthcare technology.
- Knowledge of digital care systems or care management software.
- Experience supporting care home transformation or service improvement.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
